Store Menu?
The last time I played Angband regularly it was maintained by Ben Harrison... so I'm sort of old-school when it comes to commands and such.
One of the things I find really disconcerting about the new game is the lack of a command bar at the bottoms of Stores. I realize that the way Stores work now is probably streamlined to be "better," but I really don't like it. Is there a way for me to put that back, via options? If not, is there anyone who's interested in coding the old store menu back? |

Completely unrelated, but I can remember the very first time I played Sinistar at a 7-11 store of all places. You're peacefully shooting enemy ships and mining those little sparkley bits and then all of a sudden "I am Sinistar. Beware, I live." Then it come out of nowhere and eats you. It's actually a little scary the very first time he comes after you... or at least it was as I remember it. {me goes to fire up MAME}

Yeah, Sinistar was definitely one of the most memorable old-school arcades.
Actually I think he was creepiest when you *weren't* playing... just walking along trying to choose which cabinet next and allofasudden Sinistar's attract mode shouts at you "I HUNGER!!" |

...somehow, .wav files just don't capture the joy-stick gripping terror of the Original Big Bad waking up to come devour you. But anyways... anything on-topic? |

Is there a way to turn off Stacking of staves & wands in Stores?
I don't mind it in Inventory, but I find (especially at early levels) that the most economic way to Identify is to buy a Staff of Perception, use it up, and resell it. To my dismay, I discovered that selling a Staff (0 Charges) to the store lowers the average number of charges per staff (and price, but I'd happily pay more for more charges). |

No, but what version are you playing? There was a change made so that staves are recharged when you sell them back, so it isn't so terrible any more. I don't know whether that was in 3.1.2v2. You might need to download a nightly version.
