Exploding oil flasks idea

I had a shower thought this morning...

Wouldn't it be cool if flasks of oil on the dungeon floor exploded with a radius four fireball when struck by a wand of fire bolts or some other similar fire attack.

You could line up a row of flasks around a bunch sleeping monsters, escape to safety and then BOOM!

I was remembering exploding imps in Doom this way. It might be a fun early game mechanic for the non-choppy classes

Radius 4? Even radius 2 would do minimal damage because of attenuation. The way to get damage from oil is to throw it--you get the base damage , then the damage from weight. It is pretty effective. Any character can take out Bullroarer *easily*. I once sent him fleeing with just 3 flasks.

As a flavour mechanic that's an interesting idea - after all flasks of oil hit by fire wouldn't just 'burn up'. Even if they did minimal splash damage it could be interesting.

Of course you'd also have to allow for flasks the player is holding to do the same when hit by fire (maybe above a damage threshold). All the more reason to get a fuel free light source
