The One Ring - Found!
Beat Sauron and was clearing a few levels to get my supplies up to snuff for a Morgoth run.... and lo and behold... FOUND the ONE RING after clearing a room full of Liches, Vamps and such.
Can't see not using it as I don't know I'll ever see it again! |

Checking in the code it has a 20% chance of permanently reducing stats and experience (and it's a hefty 25% experience drain)
There is also a 10% chance of dispelling everything in line of sight, 30% chance of a 300 point mana ball and a 40% chance of a 250 point mana bolt The upsides don't seem that great compared to the potential downside That Sauron. What a guy

My Dunadan Warrior just found the One Ring in a lesser vault at 2300'... level feeling was only "Good". What the hell?!
Needless to say I upgraded my Ring of Damage +10 immediately. The experience drain is not a problem as my character has the Shadow Cloak of Luthien that activates to restore experience. Not found the One Ring since playing something like V3.0.6 and that was at 4950. http://angband.oook.cz/ladder-show.php?id=22410 |
