Quick question about Nimthanc

Hey guys, new to this forum. I just recently downloaded Angband because of nostalgia for when I used to play Moria and Im pretty addicted to it.

Anyway, I recently found a Nimthanc and Im a little confused about its stats. Its (2d4) (+9, +12) [+10], but I have no idea what the [+10] portion of the weapon is and I cant seem to find it anywhere. Anyone know what it is? Thanks

The [+10] is to AC.

The +9 to hit, +12 to damage (2d4 is the base).

Thanks for the quick reply! Are + or - numbers in [] brackets always associated with AC?

Yup

Items are always like this:

(+x, +y) [+z] (+n)
x is to_hit, y is to_damage, z is to ac, and n is the pval (power value)

In 3.3 with multiple pvals, its (+x, +y) [+z] <+n1, +n2, +n3...> where n1 ... n3 are pvals
