Missing books in the bookstore (4.2.0)
Hi! I haven't played Angband for a long time, and I'm puzzled by some things in the current game. Overall I'm quite impressed with the changes!
My first issue is, as a Dwarf Priest, the bookstore only appears to sell the first two spellbooks. Overall the contents seem quite static, but not entirely fixed. My poor Snarf is level 28 and still only has the first two books! I've even town scummed for them. This can't be normal! A 30000 book did appear in the black market, but I was a few thousand short >.< I do see books of higher prices (400 and 1600) appear for the other disciplines, and slight variation in the stock (though I have not yet started keeping exact track of how.) So I guess my first question is, what gives? Does the bookstore not sell the second pair of Divine spellbooks? Am I just supremely unlucky? Or perhaps something more sinister and bug-shaped is afoot? |

It varies among the realms - only the first two divine and nature books are town books, whereas for the arcane and shadow realms it's the first three.

Maybe if the higher level books only start showing up in the bookstore at higher levels, or when you've reached a certain depth, it would avoid the frustration of never seeing one in a game.
