There's something about PosChengband (in its entirety) and Sil that reminds me of this...
My best try at PosChengband 7.0.0's nightmare-mode on

If I'm offline I'm probably in the middle of maintaining Gentoo or something-Linux or other.

While not the same, it reminded me of a video of this guy that designed an AI that could learn how to play a game on the NES using just one 'sample input'-play: . You might find it interesting.
Mostly retired Angband player. I just don't have the time .
