The One Ring

I killed Sauron. I killed a lot of uniques.

But I swear I won’t get closer to Morgoth by more than 20 squares before I find the One Ring.

I have been playing this game for 4 years..I won several times.
And now I have to find it.

So, my question is how often you see the One Ring during the game?

Very very rare. I think I've seen it once in many years of playing.

I've been playing for over 20 years and have never found the one ring. I'm happy to find one or two of the 3 elven rings.

i think i found it like six or seven times. Had just recently two rings between 3 characters.
i normally dont wear it though.

Twice, a 3.0.6 Priest and a 3.0.9b Mage. Both winners. It helps if you don't dive fast.

I've probably found it about 8 or 9 times in 200-odd winning games. First time was in 3.0.6 in a small cross-shaped lesser vault at 4900'.

Most memorable time was in the previous version last year (4.1.3) when it popped up in a lesser vault at 2300 feet or so - level feeling was only GOOD! Put it on straight away and promptly dived to finish off Sauron and Morgoth successfully. The character was lucky enough to be wearing Luthien which activated for RLL every time the exp drain kicked in.

I found it yesterday funnily enough. If you just hang around Lv99 and 100 and keep looking it tends to turn up eventually. I've never found the really good Artifact speed boots though >:[

My greatest find of The One Ring, was way back in the late '80s, early '90s. It was buried under a pile of rubble. When I came back to playing the game many years later, I used to dig out every pile of rubble with great hopes. After a long while, I learned that the game had changed so that wouldn't happen anymore. At least I could stop scrabbling in the rocks.

i still find drops under rubble though.
