Master of Magic

Anyone used to play this? In my opinion it was the best 4x game ever that was unfortunately plagued with bugs and balance issues that were never patched and the source code was lost years ago.

Well now someone has completely modded the game by altering the machine code using a hex editor and the results are amazing. New features, everything re-balanced, new AI, new units, new game rules.

You need the original Master of Magic, but you can buy it for a few dollars these days.

I never played it, but I had a few friends who lost several years of their life to this game after it was released.

Used to love this game, but I doubt I could put myself through the micromanagement hell of playing it again...

I know what you mean, but I play on small maps so there are a lot less cities to manage. But yeah games still take a long time to go through.

It's worth it though...there are just so many different combinations and strategies to try.
