Yet another early death

So my fresh level 1 saw a sling (+2,+3) for ~300 at the smith; instead of my usual starting kit of clw and pd, I bought it and with the remaining few gold some slingshots.

First room, i shot a centipede and picked up 4 potions. Expecting clw, I drank one, but in my inventory: 3 potions of poison. I realized then that I was going to die and there was nothing I could do. RIP 15 turns later.
