Competition 142

Competition 142 is now available from the competition page; it is an FAangband Dwarf Mage - which is not as silly as it sounds in FA.

Note that comp 141 still has several hours to go.

So any reason he can't Phase Door, but can be teleported across the level by traps?

I get told 'Teleportation forbidden!' when attempting a Phase Door, I tried on several different levels.

OK - I'm guessing you are wearing something which has a no teleport curse. The curse has activated, so it should be obvious on inspection.

If that's not the case, it looks like a bug.

Aha.... This was from 100' onwards, so it never occurred to me to check for special equipment... My bad! I assumed it was maybe a side effect of an ability or some such.

I have a problem of generating dump files. I used the "f" function on character information page, but could not find the dump text file in any folder under FAngband. Is there an option I should set to generate dump files??

That's the correct command. Where it gets saved is platform dependent:

• Windows - lib/user folder
• OS X cocoa port - Documents\FAangband\user (I think)
• OS X carbon port - Library\Preferences\FAangband
• Linux - ~/.angband/FAangband, unless you have done a local install when it will be lib\user

Let me know (with details of what operating system you're using) if you still can't find it.

OK, I tried again. I am using Windows 7, the game is on E drive,
E: \roguelike\FAangband140-win and I looked under \lib\user, no dump files. However, I did notice there is a "character dump failed!" message showed in the message window. Hope this helps!

Aha! Yes. The thing about Win 7 is that it only lets programs write files in your user area. The simplest thing is just to put the FAangband140-win folder on your desktop; in your Documents folder is another good choice.
