[Un] unable to learn spells

(cross posting from r.g.r.a - sorry all !! )

im playing the Comp 55 Character and i seem to have hit a ceiling.

right now im running around Barrow Downs .... with Agorion 15 CL14

whenever i try to browse the Mage books

"You cannot study that book.You Lack the Grasp of Simple Theory"
"You pass out from the strain.you are paralyzed! you can move again"

is this to do with me having INT at 17 ?

how high should INT go to read

1. BOok of Cantrips
2. Book of Tricks

WIS is at 18/72.

You are a Mage specialized in all the spellbooks of Druidry. This wide specialization is a great thing, but in the effect you cannot learn from the books of the other spell schools. You can however learn from the unschooled books. Update to wip7e and the wrong books will not be browsable in shops.

so i should be getting the Druid Stones instead ?

i am running wip7e .... i did manage to learn "FInd Hidden Doors/Spells" from a Bard Book of Chords ... however i find that duplicated in Book of Tricks so im safe ...

Andrew: thanks about the feedback on R.G.R.A. that the max spells is limited by INT (max of 125 spells)

Druid Stones? You are playing too much of the other, impure variants. *wags his finger*

Just use the books that are available from '6' shops and those of the others that are browsable. Songbooks are all OK. Priest books are not. There are no 'stones'. Good luck.

right ! got a Magic book of Animation ... in the '6' shop at Bree i saw a Magic Book of Druidry ... i suppose that would be the ones to go ...
