Curses worth money?

Just sold a torch of brightness with 2 identified curses, steelskin and some other (I forgot) for 1200 and shopkeeper put it for sale for 1800.
Then I found a dagger of slay giant with 3 curses, steelskin, poison and demon summon and sold it for 1500 and shopkeeper put it up for 2250 gold

Is steelskin (and maybe some other curses) actually valuable because it has some vaguely positive effects too, or is this a bug?

I think it's the normal behavior of stores -- you rebuy at 50% more than you sell every item.

@Ugramoth yes, Steelskin and others are quite valuable, and a big source of money earlier on.
I pointed out to Nick .. years ago, that this was gamebreaking, but apparently there was nothing to be done.
