Remove unwanted smilie??

Hello,

There is this in FAQ

"On occasions, you may want to prevent the text in your message being converted into smilies. You will see a checkbox which you can select when you make a new post, which will allow you to 'Disable Smilies'."

However, I do not see such checkbox anywhere. Should there be one?

Testing , can't do that, FF pops up search-bar with that.

It's further below the edit window in "Additional Options", the third of three checkboxes.

Testing:
- click Reply to Thread
- check "Disable smilies in text" in Additional Options/Miscellaneous Options below the text box
- adding a :)

Hum? What "additional options"? I have only one checkbox with title "Miscellaneous Options" and that's for parsing links. Apparently I'm not seeing all the options I should be seeing.

Maybe it's not the standard editor? (Option vailable in the user CP)

Thanks, that was it. I was using "basic editor" that's basically just box where you can write into, that checkbox is in "standard editor". There's one even higher than that.

I never actually tried changing most of those, didn't even realize how much options there were that I could tweak with.

Testing full WYSIWYG this is bold, this is cursive, Lucida Console.

works like charm. Not all tags that I use are selectable, but most I can get from the menus. Nice.
