I have used a MoD of Gondolin as a mage whenever I am lucky enough to find one. It is the ultimate mage melee weapon.--You can now down common wyrms while occasionally stunning them with Ice Storm or Shockwave. Even a Horned Reaper once, on a whim. It is particularly useful in older versions where mage needs a lot of EXP.

far less boring than Priest, you *do* have some options aside from just spamming Orb. And, i was lucky enough to find a +2 blows / Slay Evil weapon that topped 770 DPS vs evil. Oh and once again every resist, however no pStun this time so i couldn't just blindly press forward and wait for xp.
Didnt find a single Wrath Of God all game.

i did not at all enjoy this character, although the last 10 levels were exceptionally easy (i was at 670 dmg @ sp+14 until CL50), because of the limited INT leaves you without the magic support that an early rogue needs.
This with a +6 INT artifact from almost the very beginning !!

On the plus side, two PDSM (one of speed, one dwarven), two dragon armors, and then the 8d8 epid MoD you see here.

textbook grinding game. no lucky early artifacts, no rare egos from the stores, just good ol' XP and staying at the right depth for the CL.
Early game went all into maximizing WIS; only real lucky break i got was that i had 3x Contemplation and lost 2x INT and 1x CON - no STR or DEX.

Again, not a class well suited to dwarves. Dwarf priest and dwarf warrior are very solid characters, but the low INT really punishes arcane spellcasters.

The digging bonus is probably the best thing they have. pBlind is great but not having to chase high-enough-to-dig STR is vital for new characters, as you don't have to chug every !brawn that comes along.
