Disenchantment melee

Do disenchantment branded melee attacks do more damage if you have no resistance to it?

I was pretty sure they did not but going melee against Sauron without the rDisen just resulted to me getting awfully high damage every round. Had to give up the game since I had no chance of beating him without losing all my healing supplies. Sub 200 AC more likely was a factor, but if anyone could confirm this I'd be grateful.

The short answer is no, they don't.

It is worth noting, though, that AC only has it's damage reduction effect for elemental attacks (which are more complex anyway) and hits to hurt or shatter. In particular, hit to disenchant does not have damage reduced by AC (and nor do stat drain attacks, hit to confuse, etc).

So when Sauron lands a hit to disenchant, he is doing 10d12 damage per blow. And your low AC meant he was hitting more often.
