I have since found a ring of speed +8, which let me swap in the boots of Thror, for 70-odd less HP and 11 base speed, with a cloak of aman (rNether) instead instead of 8 speed with Elvenkind. I eventually gave up "weaponmastery for the Necklace of the dwarves, maintaining the amulet as my only source of free action.

But all that is now changed. At DL 80, Dwar just dropped Cambeleg, giving a huge improvement in equipment flexibility--not to mention 30HP better melee than gloves of power. Now doing 1000 dam/turn vs Ubdead with the Trident, and 635 vs Evil.
