Test run of Tath the Dwarf Warrior

Well at least this test run is surviving better then the last. I guess Dwarf Warrior is the equivilent of Half-Troll Paladin, I mean it is the paladin I'm just not a fan of the d&d name & I'm undecided whether to call it the warrior, the paladin or something else. Anyway already seen a few careless bugs. Trees try & run in melee for instance. I'm not sure if it's too hard or too easy at the moment, most of the time it's too easy & then I get a reminder that I've got a lot less hps then V. Had to recall from a bunch of Mirkwood spiders, used a phase then read recall & thumped in a corner. Found phase on dlvl 11 this time. Generally it's been dropping around dlvl 7.

Decided to just take the stairs back down. I haven't done artifacts so it's pretty much Vs list, found thoringil on lvl 6. Also mage-encumbrance might be broken at the moment because I was going to do something interesting their then forgot about it. I'm pretty fine with just hitting things for a bit. Anyway got a bit of a theory that the easiest way to make AC matter is to just take it away till people value it. As a bonus it makes melee a fair bit more interesting. I mean I like to have a lot of armour in V anyway but I thought I'd try this.

Finally found a decent weapon. Lvl 14 seems to be where stat gains starting I'm never really sure when I play with allocs where it's actually going to start droping. It's a 56% fail on those rods of fire balls.

& dead to dark elf lord spam. There's holes in the monster list I have to fix & the level for Shelob was wrong in quest.txt . A bunch of other stuff.

In FA I changed all the dark elves to elven thralls - I agree, elven thrall sounds a little silly.

Well they can't be dark elfs & I like them. It'd be fine if it was just a case of them not being in the books(i.e. yeeks etc.), but the books do have dark elves. Maybe I'll call them all blackguards, take elf out of the description & leave them with the old symbol. Give them a shield-bash attack for amusement.

I'll put up a newer version in the afternoon. Just little things like fixing Shelob's depth in quest.txt, cleaning up level gen, cleaning up some over stuff which is a little ugly or not right. I've change the 1st 2 levels back to vanilla gens (at smallest original size) because I want to see what they look like if you change just the interesting rooms.

Put up a version 0.3

Simplified some of the messier equations
Vanilla-ized some stuff (mostly monster list)
Halved random energy
Played more with level gen

So now the 1st level is classic gen and the 2nd a close twin of modified, but the rooms they have access to is changed. Then it flows back into coffees small levels.

Bits in monster placement that used to do:
Foo + rand + k

Now do:
Foo - normal placement
k - stealth/3 - theme placement
rand - 3rd placement

Edit: Something is broken with rest at the moment, it didn't interrupt before dying from hunger.

Edit2: Yeah I'll just revert the energy system to Vs. It's being more pain then it's worth.
