Dealing with Monsters with lots of Resists

My gnome rogue cracked a vault (no idea on the items yet, except that there are 20 of them and LF is 5-6) and is now staring down Lorgan, Chief of the Easterlings, who apparently resists acid, lightning, fire, cold, and poison. I could use some advice on whether this battle is worthwhile, since it looks to me like shoot-and-scoot or burning through ?CCW in melee (or maybe both depending on his HP) are really the only options for killing him—though I'd be happy to be wrong. If it matters, Uvatha the Horseman was also in the vault; I TOed him, but I'm sure he'll be back soon. Everything else there I can handle, though it will take some time to clear.

In a vault, just teleport him away and see what you can find. Maybe there is something that will do more than 69 dam/turn. And you are speed -2. Drop weight or die.
Edit: Really, forget about Lorgan. You need to get your STR back by leveling up before taking any unique that are remotely powerful. That character is very weak, with only a 'Thanc and no ego bow. Wait til you find some rings that improve combat . For you, that is STR(+3).

Yeah, STR took quite a dive from IDing stat-swapping potions by use. I TOed Lorgan and cleared the vault per your advice. Sadly, Cammithrim was the only item worth mentioning there.

Cammithrim is (+5,+5), +1 light. It's not actually junk anymore, especially for a mage-caster.
