Rings of damage don't affect shooting?

I just bought a ring of damage from the black market, but upon equipping it, my bow damage did not increase in the charachter sheet. These rings only effect melle damage than? Thats a real bummer for my ranger.

The problem is that the charachter screen is not updating the damage bonus on my bow untill I recall. But yes, I was wrong, it does indeed affect my bow.

It shouldn't. That's a bug if it does. Rings of accuracy affect shooting, but not rings of damage.

Whats the reasoning behind this? Is it to balance out the advantage of ranged attacks?

Yes, that's the only reason. Hopefully if ranged attacks are properly rebalanced, this anomaly can be removed.
