My first win in the new FAAngband
Just finished knocking off Morgoth for the first time in this new version of FAAngband. What a great job Nick has done. Loads of fun to play!

OK, that is fair, though I vaguely recall you being strict about artifacts. Also, is FA using deadliness or damage? From the dump I cannot tell.

Rings are an interesting case, because the idea of forging them imbued with powers is clearly a Second Age thing, but the general idea of gems with powers is not as precise - notably Tolkien went back and forth on whether the Elessar was First or Second Age. I've taken the easy route of allowing jewellery items with powers, and given that, I've allowed them to fill basically the same niche as they do in Vanilla. So Rings of Power are more just the most powerful rings you can find than the 9, 7, 3 and 1 from the verse. Quote:
