In case you didn't know, NewAngband was actually renamed as Portralis (along with a new plot).
Check these out for Portralis (formerly NewAngband): http://www.roguebasin.com/index.php?title=Portralis http://www.geocities.ws/pericles_2ca/ http://variaz.proboards.com/ Portralis downloads: https://app.assembla.com/spaces/Portralis/documents

Cough... I know. It was and is one of my favorites, but tbh, it has the depth of an ocean, but the surface of a puddle. If someone put that into traditional angband, woo boy, that would be something fierce. Hence, I was curious. And there is a link for the old version, and... it's not compiled for my little spec, and I forgot how to compile... lickly due to falling up stairs too many times.

This link (Zaimoni Angband Variant Mirror) has a zip file, I'm not sure if it's source or executable.

thank you guys. I really need to learn how to compile if I wish to play old angband variants, and luckily my memory of it is coming back! My thanks to both of you!

The above is another good source for obtaining code for older variants. If you want to explore angband variants in general, http://angband.live/ has a fair selection that you can avoid needing to compile yourself. NewAngband isn't on the list, however. |
