No Number Keypad!

Hello all!

I just downloaded this to play on my Chromebook. I am not blessed with a number keypad, so the diagonal moves are annoying because I use the row of numbers across the top of my keyboard. I tried to remap the keys to some of the chromebook specific buttons w/o success in an attempts to get all the keys at least in the same location.

Anyone else playing on a keyboard setup w/o number keypad and what did you do to make moving about easier?

Oh, too... Since this is an android android app running in native chrome language, I thought there may have been an optional onscreen dpad of sorts. How do people play this on their phones w/o one?

If you open the User interface options from the = menu there's an option to switch to the roguelike keyset, which uses "hjkl" for the four standard directions and "yu" and "bn" for diagonals. (A bunch of the other commands use different keys too - you can find the full list under the "Playing the game" section in the help menu.)

true, that. touch typing is much easier if you don't have to move one hand--never mind that it's less wrist strain.

I use 1357. You get used to it very quickly.

You tap the screen in the quadrant you wish to go. top left moves to 7, bottom left corner is the same as 1.

You can click the angband window in a graphical environment to move to the spot you clicked.

I don't think the console version has any other input other than the keyboard.
