[O]Angband advice?
I've been messing around with OAngband after spending dozens of ours playing vanilla, but it feels much more difficult to me. I've been creating mages and necros. In Vanilla, I'd dive to 800~ while picking up stuff to sell, but this doesn't work so well here. I've tried exploring each level, but I inevitably get destroyed by the more powerful monsters. Any advice?

O is generally harder than V; the monsters are smarter and get nasty earlier, and diving is tricky. I'd recommend trying a rogue (who get to set monster traps) or an assassin to start with; necros are weak to start out with, and mages are just weak.
