Crazy equipment combos

So I found this in the black market, and was reasonably pleased.
b) a Heavy Crossbow of Extra Might (x5) (+18,+20) <+1>
Bought from a store

Then I found an Amulet of ESP also in the black market as a replacement for "Regen, and was extremely pleased:
j) the Hard Leather Cap 'Oronwe' [2,+17] <+1>
Found lying on the floor of a cavern at 2550 feet (level 51)

+1 shooting speed.
Cannot be harmed by acid.
Sustains constitution.

It's like playing ToME 2.4.

It's like finding a Long Bow of Lothlorien (x5) with ESP...

The possibility of those combos occuring is why I always play with randarts.

with:

a) the Quarterstaff 'Bornog' (9d9) (+12,+12)
Conjured forth by magic at 4900 feet (level 98).

Cannot be harmed by acid, electricity, fire, cold.

Combat info:
6.0 blows/round.
This weapon may benefit from one or more off-weapon brands or
slays.
Average damage/round: 1054.8 vs. evil creatures, 1378.8 vs.
creatures not resistant to acid, and 730.8 vs. others.

Yeah, I agree that the quarterstaff is a vastly better find. But I was amused because most of the equipment came from a store in this case. I have previously found pretty good boots of speed in the armory, but those are more common than real killer bows.

But I was amused because most of the equipment came from a store in this case. I have previously found pretty good boots of speed in the armory, but those are more common than real killer bows.
