No, it'd make whatever spell detects cursed status useless. If there's no such thing, then why worry about it?

Only if you're a priest.

Priests can effectively detect cursed stuff by throwing it on the floor and orbing it.

Which is sooo lame. Perhaps modify Orb that if you cast it on yourself, or you're in the splash damage zone, it destroys cursed items in your backpack?

I kind of like the idea of priests more-or-less instantly noticing curses, provided that curses aren't always on bad things. (Like having a (+2,+5) Flail cursed.)

That both makes curses more "interesting" and adds a quirk to the Priest class.

Someone's been playing Nethack, it seems.

But yeah, curses on nonbad things is a nice thing. Is there a possibility for items to have multiple {tags} on them [e.g., {cursed, excellent}], or would that be distracting?

You could use different titles for different things e.g. Flail (+2, +5) {Jaded}, Flail (-2, -5) {Cursed}.

Excellent Cursed items e.g. Flail of Morgul are marked terrible I think but only with strong ID.

In the new model, where {cursed} != BAD, they should reveal the curse without destroying the object.
