Can enemy breath weapons damage my spell books?

I notice that fire breath can destroy my scrolls (for example). Can it also destroy my spell books?

I ask so that when some monster burns up my Raal's Tomb I won't be driven completely insane with fury.

Ordinary spell books can be burned, though not as easily as scrolls. Dungeon spell books are immune to fire and stuff. I think it states this in their description.

Minor spellbooks can be destroyed (so the 4 you can buy at the store). Its better to have some of them with you when going down.
The major spellbooks like Raal can't be destroyed by fire. But there maybe some attacks which can also damage them (not sure). You can examine them to see what they are resistant to - i think they cannot be harmed by the elements.

They cannot be harmed by any means. The only possibility is that they could get stolen if your DEX is below 18/150.

This is true when they are in your inventory.

When they are lying on the ground, there are several ways they can be destroyed: word of destruction, mana storms, stomped by Quaker, etc.
