Run away from uniques!

I've discovered a cool new strategy: Run away from uniques that you should be able to kill relatively easily. Why? Because even low-level uniques often drop special items, and the deeper that happens, the better the loot.

What do you guys think about that?

Isn't the native depth of a monster a factor in the drop generation?

It's a good strategy, and not just because the drops are better. Uniques are much easier to kill the second or third time around.

It is - the level of the item generated is the average of the dungeon level and the monster's unique depth. This is boosted by an additional 10 for most (all?) uniques (the ones with the DROP_GOOD flag).
