Right, I got my burden dialed down to 85.8 lb of 90 as I finally was able to buy a decent body armor from town. So at least i can enter the dungeon without a speed penalty. I did post my character dump; Tumen2.

Grats for early Aiglos.
You've cleared your inventory good
I would probably do 2 minor adjustments, that have no huge impact on your game right now, but would still be improvements imo:

1) Wear those heavier boots of Stability you keep at home. This, if they don't drop your MP drastically. I have personal issues with Nexus attacks and Stability gives resistance against it.

2) Aiglos has Slow Digestion so one or zero food ration is enough in your inventory. Stoneskin mushrooms I never carry.

Thanks! I suspect I'll be using that spear for awhile.
Thanks for the tips. I didn't realize the stone 'shrooms slowed so much lol.
I also found a lighter helm with +5 infravision that shaved another 2.5 lbs of my total, while only losing a few AC points and the +2wisdom.
Also, please excuse my ignorance, but MP? I assume magic points, but it's listed as SP in game.

Oh yes.. MP -> SP
I've played quite many roguelikes and tend to mix up their magic sources whether it is MP, SP, Mana, Power.. and the list goes on

In case you haven't yet, I would recommend turning on the "notify on object recharge" option in user interface options. As far as I can tell, it is off by definition, for what I assume are strictly historical reasons. It's a handy reminder to perhaps use some of your faster-recharging things multiple times during prolonged fights. Alternately, if you want to only be informed when specific objects (like Aeglos or the Rod of Drain Life) recharge, you could inscribe them with !! to turn the notification on only for them.

Once you start hitting roughly dlvl 40, you will start to want resist Poison, since that's where monsters start turning up who can breathe poison for more than your max HP could credibly be at that point. Fortunately, it seems you have Nar-i-vagil at home, and that's also the point at which the repeatable activation on Aeglos will most likely stop being more impressive than +4 INT.

Other than that, my only real advice is to consider looking for rings of the mouse. Aeglos will most likely deal a fair amount of damage in meleeeven with them on, especially if you can somehow get an extra couple fractions of a blow, and bonuses to stealth are really useful. If it discourages you from using melee then, well, that's just practice for later on in the game.

Philip-
It isn't til dl 48 that serious poison breathers start becoming native. Of course.at DL 40 they can show up in special rooms, but that is pretty rare.

I will do that, thanks.

Right, my last character died on DL38 from a mature green dragon breath. It seems poison resist is somewhat rare.

Interesting. I do tend to avoid melee now anyways.

The black market sold me a ring of strength +3, which could allow me to equip the Elvenkind armor I have stashed, and some other flexibility. What does "your armor encumbers your movement" do exactly? I see my spell points went down a few, as was alluded to in a previous response, but nothing else seems obvious to me.

Also, how do I update my character dump on the ladder?
Thanks again for all the great tips and advice!

edit: Can I change the title of the OP? Just to better reflect what this thread is turning into. edit2: nevermind lol

Yeah, you're right, I haven't played enough V since the big monsters change to get a real feel for the new breakpoints.
With that in mind I feel like +4 INT will become more worthwhile than what Aiglos provides before rPois becomes strictly necessary, but it's a nice bonus not to have to worry about it, especially for someone who wants to feel secure while fighting any monster they could run into.

EDIT: Wear the ring of strength, since ring of protection does fairly little for full-casters (something has already gone seriously wrong if there is something that is a melee threat to you and is also next to you). Wear the Elvenkind unless it takes off more than, like, 5 spell points. Otherwise don't worry - +1 stealth is fairly low, extra AC is mediocre, and nexus resist you can get off of shoes and isn't even that important these days, and you don't seem to have anything better to choose from in that department anyway. Encumbered movement doesn't actually do anything other than take off a spell points based on how much heavier your armor is than your max armor weight (determined by clvl and class).

Submitting the new dump (with the same character name and from your account) will overwrite the existing dump (unless an option is selected on the dump to protect it from being overwritten).

Hmm. Yes, a mature green dragon does enough unresisted damage (266) to kill a low-HP character in a single turn.

Thanks for all the help! The Phoenix reduced my evil little hobbit body to ashes. But I am ready to start again! Seem Hobbit Necro is not a very popular choice according to the Ladder.
Do I need to save any weapons that are purely melee focused for latter game maybe? I was doing to much collecting, I feel. It was commented that I should save Theoden for the constitution bonus for Morgoth at the end.
Was also wondering if there are any light sources of darkness (haha)?
