TIL that quality ignoring is not tiered
so, if i ignore all crossbows of power, i am not also ignoring all average crossbows.
it does seem to work for *some* items. If i ignore good bows, i also ignore average bows. Possibly only happens with egos? it should be rather straightforward that if i am ignoring ego items, then i don't want the good items either. AFAIK there is only one Ego which is worth ignoring while still wanting the good items, which is Of The Nazgul, understandably this was added recently and possibly not thought out carefully (i remember weapons Of Morgul, those were another bag entirely).

Ego ignoring is done separately from quality ignoring. They possibly could be combined, but I don't want to rule out the sort of exception you give as a possibility to happen more widely.

I think Eddie implemented something like this: "ignore all objects of this base type that are strictly worse." I am not sure this covered good objects being dominated by all ego types, but it is stylistically similar. It allowed you to (say) ignore all rings of Constitution with bonus less than 5.

i'd love the option to ignore worse-than, although that sounds veeeery cumbersome; it would change your simple, everyday "ignore this item" to a longer process. OR, it could be added as a separate function; so you'd have 1. ignore this item only, 2. ignore all of these items, 3. ignore any X or less.
A good example of where this would work is with rings of damage. I dont want to have to wade through a million ring of damage +7, but i'd love to know when that occasional ring of damage +14 drops.
