Hiho! I'm playing Angband for the first time I played Rogue, Moria, MAngband, TomeNET, PWMA (and loads of other roguelikes from Nethack to Dungeonmans)... but not Vanilla Time to try it!! First go:

p.s.
A question: do I need to take digger to my hands to make it effect? Or it would dig better even if it's in inventory?

Just watching the start:

You can change various options; one of them lets you point buy your stats, so you can allocate all to str & dex for more blows at the start. Another one I like is "show walls as solid blocks", for a more eye pleasing experience.

I dont know any russian, but watched a little anyway.

You are clearing levels - thats what everyone does at first, and as such, you are not descending too slowly. However, that is not a very efficient way of playing; if you want to dive faster, you need to radically change your playstyle.

If you want to survive with a weak character deep down, you need to detect, stay close to the exit and only make short forays on any level so as not to wake up everything. That includes avoiding unprofitable actions like hitting brown molds.

For that to work you need to have some knowledge of the monsters though, the danger they pose as well as the potential profit when killed, which you are about to acquire.

I'm something of a Russophile and dissappointed that Mother Russia apparently considers angband live to be counter-revolutionary. But I certainly don't want to incur her wrath by eg setting up automatic proxies.

Estie, thanks Considering staying near to the exit - I don't like excessive stair-scumming (in general prefer disconnected-stairs option) and I'm quite impatient (get used to tomenet), so there would be a lot of YASD, its fun I just wondered maybe modern Angband got some specifics in diving. I just felt that it was a bit too easy at certain point, so maybe I should dive deeper or use additional char birth options to make gameplay more challenging

No idea if it was deliberate for a challenge or not, but you chose random stats and your warrior started with 17 STR. This means 1 bpr with any weapon until you manage to get strength/brawn pots. Not ideal for a first character.
