Saw three lots of redhatted elves over the festive period but no St Nick. I liked that just like the other townsfolk they are worth 0.00 experience points.

I had Xmas by myself for the first time in decades as I'm single again after 30mumble years. So decided to have some fun since the TV went with her (no big loss).

Playing on the laptop has been a very anti-social thing to do for as many Xmases as I could ever remember. Closest was the Xmas with the inlaws in '93 when I disappeared downstairs to do some PhD writing on a Mac LC, no games were played, honest guv.

Playing version 4.2.3 I killed him and his little red hatted companion today. He lets Angband players accomplish something tangible in the War on Christmas.

He dropped a useless weapon.

And observed it move (slowly)

he drew a magnesium wand

I'd be tempted to give one of the reindeer a BR_LIGHT ranged attack (an innate beam of strong light would be a better match to canon, but that's not available in the current monster spell list).

This thread is a good place to wish everybody in the group a merry Christmas. May 2022 be a rich year for balance grumbling, stupid deaths and hours of adventuring when we could be doing something more practical (like balance grumbling).
