Don't you mean 3x earlier? In any case, I feel like the type of treasure ought to be invariant of your options set. Thus if no_selling is on, the window for each treasure type should be larger than if it's off.

I agree, but this probably deserves its own thread.

On-topic I think mimics are a pleasant little surprise. Of course my character is disappointed, but the gamer in me is amused. I think it'd be cool if they were even more impactful. Maybe as monsters, or items could be bait in traps! "You pick up a Ring of Speed (+9). You set off a Dragonsong trap!" The character should have a reasonable chance to see and disarm such a trap first.

Items are basically bait in vaults, but outside of vaults I'm often like "Why is this gorgeous dragon scale mail just sitting on the floor in a room full of orcs?"

Clashes with their skin. They may be ugly but Orcs have taste sir.

Sil has a slight bias in trap placement where the odds are a little higher adjacent to an object. I'm not convinced it works well, it's so subtle that its invisible in-game and the usual trap hatters still get annoyed by the random traps.

Well, a potion mimic of Life or Augmentation could be a much harder adversary than a lesser potion mimic.

I always make a note of the flavor of mimics so i recognize the good items when I find them. Better to sell them for ID and repurchase them than to waste them in ID-by-use. In writing this it occurs to me that you can auto-inscribe the flavor with "!d!q; mimic" or whatever to ensure it gets noticed.

And another thing

Another thing about creeping coins I noticed is that they seem pretty speedy. If I don't one-shot them and they flee, they flee at a speed quite a bit faster than a 'creep'.

I think long ago they were nearly but not quite immobile, and so maybe at some point an attack speed boost inadvertently boosted their movement speed from 'creep'. Or perhaps the movement speed is supposed to be fast now, and 'creep' is now just a misnomer.

OT: maybe we should rename them to Quantitative Easing Money?

Only if they're doubling the money supply every ten years or so

They--or someone--is doubling the money supply every 20 levels anyway.
