Sangband MS-DOS version

Hey guys.

I've got a Nokia N800 that's capable of running Dosbox.

I have the latest version of Sangband - sang100ibm.zip

When I try to run it on my computer, all of the text crunches and I get this...



I'd like to see this work so I can play it on the go with my Internet Tablet.

Any advice on what might be the problem and how to get this running under Dosbox?

By the way, if there was ever a person that could port all of these variants to the N800/N810, my life would be perfect.

You'd need to get gdb running under Dosbox (which may not be possible) and do a backtrace on the crash. Hopefully it'll have enough of the stack left for you to be able to figure out what is going on.

Yeah, the post that you led me to is how I first found your site.

The port for the N800 didn't seem to want to build correctly and it appears that they just left the project alone if I'm to understand them correctly.

I really wish that Dawnmist would come back and finish her work. Her version was absolutely stunning, it's so sad to not see this complete.

Anyway, I forgot to mention that all of the other downloads worked perfect under Dosbox, the only one that squibbed on me was Sangband.

I was only wondering why this DOS variant acted differently than the others.

There was quite a bit of work done around a window manager set up on Sangband. This might be where the bug that is causing your crash is.
