Testing a staff in town:

The singing, happy drunk falls asleep!

They do that a lot, don't they?

So I spoke very clearly into my iPad in the google search field: "Roguelike key set Angband" and my iPad returned this:

Code:
Rogue like to suck and band
Nice to know the AI apocalypse is not nigh.

Again I speak to it and it returns:

Code:
Rogue like you suck in band
and...

Code:
Rogue like kiss a ring band
and..

Code:
Road like to suck big band
Changing the order doesn't help much: "Angband keyset Roguelike"

Code:
Ring band kiss a rogue like

"You clear the web. You feel that there is naught but cobwebs here."

That made me laugh out loud.

I just found a scroll titled "hungrae". Unfortunately it wasn't a scroll of Remove Hunger.

You feel very smart! You see no more Potions of intelligence. You no longer feel heroic.

I killed the Witch King of Angmar in my most recent game and he dropped the Bastard Sword of Éowyn, which really would have confused Tolkien. (In LotR, Éowyn kills the Witch King of Angmar, so it's a little weird that he would have her sword…)

I guess I shouldn't be surprised that a Belend aggravates creatures nearby.

the Ring of Belend <+4, +5>
---------------------------
+4 intelligence.
+4 constitution.
+5 speed.
Provides resistance to lightning, fire, light, nexus, nether, chaos.
Cannot be harmed by lightning.
Sustains dexterity.
Aggravates creatures nearby.

When activated, it lights and maps the entire level, sensing objects.
Takes 180 to 264 turns to recharge.
Your chance of success is 90.9%

Minor necromancy.

Yeah this is weird even within game logic. Monsters with floor pickup can't take items with slay, so how can they carry them in the first place?

They can pick it up, but its (sticky) cursed for them, so they decide not to. And in the rare case that they do pick it up, it stays with them for the rest of their ....existence.

I was preparing for the endgame battles and wanted to make absolutely sure I could throw a spear using asym LOS. I tried an experiment in town and laughed out loud at the result, poor guy...

Your Spear "Aiglos" (3d6) (+15,+25) [+5] <+2, +4> freezes the singing, happy drunk (1733). It was a good hit!
