Not dead yet, but my psyche is seriously damaged...

Dunadan Rogue at CL 43 and about 65K turns, Morgoth about 90% dead, Need to TO a summon and finish the job. And instead of TO, I fat finger a "d" instead of a "c" to teleport through the ceiling.

Now thinking about how to regroup. 3 out of 5 wands of annihilation exploded during the battle. I still have a stack of 10 drain life wands but not my preferred method with Morgoth. Most of my *Healing* were used up because his mana storm always put me at about 325 HPs where plain old Healing was dicey.

I either get to wander around the dungeon looking for supplies for awhile or try a different strategy. Contemplating simply never letting Morgoth see me though I've never attempted that strategy before and I don't really like the battle drawn out that long and as tedious as I think it will be. I have a un-verified theory that he won't summon if he can't see me.

the long way around - grind for potions. You'll probably gain a few levels too.
It's just that, that's what happened to me once. Got in the fight, chickened out at some point (..i know...), realized i had lost a ton of potions.

After being distracted by the Blackguard competition I finally got back to this guy. You were right, I did gain a few levels before going back for Morgoth, and also found Nenya. I only got a few more life and *healing* potions before trying again, but I was just a lot more cautious and TO'ed Morgoth more than I would normally.

I think I only used 2 of the big healing potions but I ended up using a bunch of CCW because I forgot to have a snack before going back to DL100 and needed a bunch of 1% food boosts to keep from getting hungry I ended up exploding my last to wands of annihilation and 8 out of 12 wands of drain life and eventually finished the job with assistance from Amrod.
