Meanwhile, I have a question of my own. Has anyone else had a problem with the competition savefile? I can't it to work properly on the Windows version (DOS Gumband handles it fine). It will open, but it doesn't save any changes. I've tried turning on autosave and using the ^S save command in addition to my usual ^X save and close. I've redownloaded the file and tried again. But I have no problems with the savefiles I made on my own machine. If anyone has had a similar problem or has an idea what could be causing this, please let me know.
I think the file "69" gets saved as "Grirbag". that's how its working on my Windows install ...

Right, and every time you open "69" by accident and save/quit, it'll overwrite "Grirbag," so you probably want to rename.

Thanks. It's so obvious, now it is pointed out.

Anyone getting errors on trying to access the items in "~" screen in Windows XP ?

"1) Display known artifacts" , "2) Display known uniques" and "3) display known objects", "4) Display kill count" crashes outright.

"5) display mutations" indicates "cannot open .\s49s.1"

"6) display current pets" crashes too ?

Maybe running it under Limited User Account is causing weird stuff ?

Any thoughts ?

All of these depend on having a working temporary file name. The temporary files being generated are in "the wrong place" to be openable. This is only an issue with Limited User Account....

One possibility (not having read the source code):
Microsoft intentionally broke the ISO C tmpnam function. The temporary file paths generated are certain to be unopenable under any sort of restricted rights.

UnAndrew has indicated in his blog that Un 0.63 may just be ready in time.
