How do I load multiple characters?

I started playing Angband and now my siblings would like to play, but I can't figure out how to save my character, start a new one for them, and then switch between them. Can someone please help me?

What operating system are you on?

You should be able to save your gave via Ctrl+S or Command+S, then quit by just quitting the program. Restart the program and choose either to create a new character (for your sibling), or open a previous character (to get your current character back).

You can't make new characters, or load a different savefile, when you're already playing the game; that can only be done when you first launch the game.
