That's pretty cool. As someone tangentially in this field I can say there's a million ways to define intelligence, but whatever you call it, the emergent property "swarm intelligence" of these hyper social organisms is just the coolest thing ever.

Maybe slime-mold juice should show paths to the nearest stairs

I'll add a note that slime molds are models for a whole bunch of phenomena including altruism and cooperation.
