Question about save files

I currently have Angbband 3.0.9 running I was wondering if I could use my 3.0.9 save files on the newest version? Since I feel like 3.1.2 might be easier since CCW works better.

I don't know, but try it. I imagine it'll work.

I once loaded up a 2.something file into angband 3.0something about 3 years it's junior and it worked fine (though it did deprive one ego item of my only res-poison, I had to tread very carefully for a while...)

3.0.9 savefiles are not compatible with the new version.

You either have to start from scratch, or if you want good monster memory go to the competition page and get the last savefile I submitted.

TBH, it's a single player game, doesn't the cheat "full monster knowledge" or whatever work just as well? =P

Or is the spelled out version "cheat" too big a hurdle? =P Either "cheat" to skip using probe or spoilers (ie. "cheat") or play by memory & use probing, IMHO ...

PS. I "cheat" with monster knowledge now. Yea it's not cheating really but "spoileruse", just more convenient to use it ingame...
