edit 3: nope, can't reproduce it at all... I'll let you know if it happens again! But on the charscreen, shouldn't "Invis" be "SInv"? It's not that the character IS invisible, it's that he SEES invisible Same as with the resists!
It looks like a pretty unreproduceable bug; the "fix" I made was entirely speculative.

Actually, it did happen again, but I don't know what triggered it; loading up the savefile put me at the beginning of the level, and attempting to reproduce the bug from there yielded nothing...

Noticed this a few times now:

You have a Light Crossbow (x3) (s).
You feel the Light Crossbow of Power (s) in your pack is excellent...

Seems kind of odd that it's immediately referred to by type.

Also, as I mentioned in another thread, I really can't wait until the old "k" destroy item functionality is restored. Selecting "n" every time I want to destroy potentially useful potions/scrolls is driving me crazy.

Oh, and speaking of those ID messages, it always says "in your pack" even if you're wielding it...

@Ekolis & Takkaria

I'm getting the same bug, going into the character screen and hitting another key sometimes causes the program to stop working. Running windows 7 RC, 64bit.

If I can figure out how to reproduce it reliably I'll let you know.

I'll often get a "You feel the X in your pack is normal," after already having identified it as (+0,+0) by fighting with it.

That's so you know it's {average} (eg, non-ego), which is at least theoretically independent of attack bonuses.

This is because "Of Power" and "Of Accuracy" don't have any special abilities, so everything is known about them immediately. (It's a little wonky for UI, but there's really no extra knowledge granted by announcing this on pseudo-ID.)

I really really like this new release. It seems tighter, more focused. Just raising the prices on launchers changed the whole game for me. I like the new pseudo-id, and i find it makes the early game much more interesting. I look forward to refinements in the engine. Once I was meleeing a green naga, when "your shield glows." That was a cool surprise. That's cool for me because I still spend most of my time under stat gain.

I do find that I rely on the ring shop identify bug. I'll keep a ring then take it back to the shop to see how much is offered, so I know whether it's worth keeping. It seems to be too risky to sell a ring that might be useful to id it, and too risky to wear it in dungeon for fear of getting a ring of the dog, and too expensive to spend 110 gold on a ?id for a ring that probably won't sell for even that much.

I guess I'm pinching pennies uselessly. But 40 gold can make a real difference sub-1500'

I think Deep Descent is underpriced. They should be at least 200 gold in the BM. I prefer them to TLevel.

- Things that activate can be learnt entirely by psuedo-ID when they couldn't before
- Only make the trample/push past message happen when monsters are visible (this will be tweaked further at a later date)
I don't know about the download from the frontpage of rephial, but I still get "pushes past" messages for ESPed monsters not in LOS in r1621.
