Comp 191 is just about to wrap up, but for those sick of FAangband, Comp 192 is ready to go. It's a Sangband Gnome, geared for... well, not melee fighting.

Any particular reason for 1.01 (balance, etc)? The most recent version seems to be 1.02 (https://code.google.com/archive/p/sk...band/downloads) and it's savefile incompatible.

All indications were that 1.02 never left beta. 1.01 build 129 is also what was listed as the most recent stable version on the variants page. It's possible I was wrong here, but I'm not going to change the savefile now because some folks have already started playing.

It is? Looking at the previous sangband competition it seems to also be 1.01, looking at the version on my computer it 1.02. I played in the last comp though only briefly. Maybe I just got lucky there.

Yes, it complains about the different number of talents (whatever that means) and refuses to load. Maybe its something particular to gnomes?
