When is aggravate worth accepting?

My hobbit rogue found these two incredible randarts... the only trouble is they aggravate. On the other side of the coin, they obliterate anything in their path.

Is it worth sacrificing that legendary stealth and effectively switch class to become a hard hitting warrior?

How's your survivability otherwise? If you have enough HP and speed, go for it.

Edit: oh yeah, and ESP. I dont think I'd aggravate at depth without it.

I would carry the MoD as swap and use for prime targets (uniques) at need.

MoD is really heavy to use as a swap, though it is certainly the better weapon with a lightning brand. It's almost the equal of Deathwreaker, but lacks slay evil. Unless your other weapon is really light (like a trident or katana) the flail is better as a swap.

Wot. I assume that character is past the +10 speed threshold ? If the difference from weight is something like +16 -> +15 speed, it makes no difference surely.

That thing is heavy enough to cut speed by up to 4 points. (IIRC, it's 40lbs!)

Thanks for all the advice. The character was at +27 Speed and of course had ESP. I say was and had, because I died to a wyrm of annihilation while giving Glaurung a battering. I moved one space to TO and he breathed nether (which I partially resisted and time, which I couldn't). YASD at clvl49

Personally, I wouldnt. I just dont think Rogues, especially hobbit rogues have the staying power to handle aggravation in the lower floors. Blackguard, Paladin, or Warrior? Absolutely. But not a Rogue.

Edit: Oops missed that you died. Sorry. Still getting used to the new layout of these forums on a phone.

What i don't get is how he double moved you. Time only does 200 damage, so you were already too low in HP for anything but *heal* or an escape.
