Sound issue
For some reason sound does not work and gives the following error under Ubuntu 11.04:
./angband: Couldn't open mixer: No available audio device ./angband: Failed to load sound config Obviously sound does work in other programs, even SDL ones. Have anyone else problems? Could it be a problem of conflicting SDL versions? |

EDIT: Also another bug. I usually inscribe my spellbooks, but I haven't done so yet. Now, when I did try to cast a spell using the 'm1' key sequence instead of 'ma', the game crashes with: ./angband: software bug Adding the relevant inscription allows me to use 'm1' without crashing. |

I don't remember sound not working under 3.2.0, but as soon as I can build it again I'll check (for some reason I am getting a segfault when I build it at the moment). Last edited by Magnate; June 12, 2011 at 15:23. |

Update on the sound issue:
I tested FAAngband 1.2.1 and has the same problem with sound in it. |

Problem solved, is was this line in .bashrc that caused it:
export SDL_AUDIODRIVER=alsa That is because 11.04 uses pulseaudio instead of alsa. Sound also works fine in FA now. I have to check if the other problems I had with other variants was also caused by it. |
