Deciding to try different character classes, and possibly win with each one. So far I have a Mage, Priest, Warrior, and Paladin. Getting kind of burnt out so I don't know when I will try the next one. Big problem is that I play quite slowly so it takes a long time to win.
Was never in danger of dying but was getting very low on instant healing items (mana storms hurt). Used lots of Slay Evil arrows, ended it with Wands of Annihilation. Lots of Orbs and Dispel Evils (along with mana restoration) thrown in as well. No melee, only got hit once. --Ladder Post-- |

Try a Rogue (High-Elf or Kobold) and force yourself to play (dive) faster. This class is designed for this--good stealth is a real game changer.

I'd also suggest trying a randarts game. You tend to get more keep or chuck tough decisions in randart games because you don't have any knowledge of what is out there.
I agree with Pete in that Kobold rogue makes an excellent diving choice. You may find that it's an entirely different experience. |
