Help with status display?

My laptop failed its save vs heat and I'm forced back to an old 2004 Mac running OS X 10.6.8, and the newest version of Angband that runs on this thing is 4.0.5. (In fact, Angband and other roguelikes are about the only games it will run lol)

(The version I last installed on this thing was 3.0.1, it's that old.)

Started a kobold ranger but noticing that there is no "Fed" status on the bottom row of the main window, nor anything but the level feeling.

Am i missing a setting somewhere... I can't seem to find one.

(And if this is in the wrong forum, please forgive me and please direct me to the proper place.)

Nope, there was no fed status then, or light meter, or terrain notice, and you won't get a study notice until you can learn a spell, which IIRC is about level 3 for a ranger. You'll probably notice some more differences as you go along

Yeah, I noticed right away the shops were laid out differently.

And the old identification system.

"You feel that the shovel in your pack is magical."

"You know more about the rapier you are attacking monsters with."

Honestly, I kinda missed that.

(Runes have their benefits, tho... don't mistake my nostalgia for criticism.)

On my fourth ranger now... my last @ was a half-troll warrior so I had to recalibrate my spidey sense.
