Android version
Recently I came over Pixel Dungeon game, which induced in me a strong longing to play some Angband again. So I got real actual Angband on my phone and...
Who is working on Android port these days? I can get over tapping keys on on-screen keyboard etc, but please, big screen support, anyone? Because this is ridiculous: ![]() Also any plans for 3.5?

If you rotate your phone to landscape mode, the font increases and the wasted space is no longer wasted.

Yes, true, and I'm also unable to play since the on-screen keyboard is gone.

I'm trying this now and while in Game if I press the up sound keys on the side of the phone it changes the font size....you can press the sound keys to change font sizes with android phones...I'm using Samsung galaxy s4 by the way.

Playing around some more and using the options button on your phone brings up the screen orientation options for the game you can set to display the virtual keyboard in landscape mode and then you can flip around the phone for the wide and bigger screen and it will display the keyboard as well.

In landscape you have the opposite problem, the keyboard covers up half the game screen. I don't think theres a good fix for this short of redesigning the main screen to suit the aspect ratios smartphones give us.

Has anybody tried this on a tablet or kindle? That's a pretty big screen there I'm curious as to how well it works on one of those.

Well, I have just started to play Angband on a 7" tablet.
The screen is big enough to have a real play but still the keybaord is missing the D-pad (or the arrows). That "wasted" space would be used for some extra touch buttons like the arrows.

The main screen has an invisible d-pad on it. By default, its set to always run, which you can change if you go into the programs preferences. Personally, I find it better to switch between numeric and alphabet keyboards, it forces me to slow down which helps me avoid rushing into a stupid death.
No, I now go slowly and deliberately into stupid deaths. |
