Got through Act I. Having a lot of fun. Really enjoy the skill system with the gems. Allows for a good deal of versatility. Plus with the large passive skill tree there is a lot of different builds you can make. Be fun tinkering around with it all.

Been messing around with a few different builds/classes. In Standard I got a lvl 35 physical/crit Ranger and a lvl 16 Marauder (in your face melee build, lots of fun). Made a couple characters in the Onslaught league for fun, another physical/crit Ranger but HC version at lvl 24 and a Templar that's lvl 12 (LS/physical tankish build). Have a lvl 11 Witch (Cold dmg for now but gonna be more of an EK build later) in Anarchy to see what that league is like.
Really want to try out the Shadow and Duelist classes but can't seem to think of a good idea for them yet. Was wondering if anyone had any suggestions? |

Have you been to Exile Pro? They haven't updated a new build in months, but the existing ones there are, or were, considered very good, or maybe even, the best. I built my elemental cleaver off of VictorDoom's Elemental cleaver and it was the best character I ever had. My home-grown's sucked, though they might've been better with the new melee buffs since they were all physical based. http://www.exilepro.com/builds
If nothing else, they can give you some interesting ideas. For shadow, specifically, I was trying to make one of Invalesco's super dagger crit CI awesomeness of oh-god-that-looks-so-awesome... but, believe it when he says it's not easy to get there... it is sooo not easy to get there. I burned out trying. But, the video footage of it working... amazing. Or, amazeballs, as Debo puts it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3CHGLWhMunM The build is on the forums and at exile pro as well. I still haven't respecced yet. I did a vaults of atziri and sort of called it game over for a while. |

Yeah, checked out Exile Pro already and been browsing the forums on the Path of Exile website too. Not too many builds on the Exile Pro website but the Leap Slam Aura tank Duelist build looks interesting. I'm using a build by that VictorDoom guy too, a pure physical ranger which is pretty fun though people say it's a hard one to do. Damn, that Shadow does look pretty neat to play.

The SaintVitus physical ranger by Vic? I did that exact same thing with my Ranger, and it was really quite fun... up till I got to Merciless. I was lucky to have found Maligaro's Virtuosity with a previous character, so I bought a Death's Harp for 1 gcp and Broadstroke for a chaos. The criticals were rolling and rolling hard. Good times. However, I made the mistake of going on my own path about halfway through cruel to worship damage instead, and eventually got too glass, and also not enough cannon. The Elemental Cleaver he lays out actually works quite well, though I think his physical ranger is not on Exile Pro for a good reason. The ranger was fun while it lasted.

I hope you stick with it, so you can tell me if it works! I didn't look to see if they improved archery physical nodes.
I'd like to respec back to a physical crit based ranger. I have never liked elemental damage, perhaps since most games give monsters huge elemental resistances, while physical is usually reliable. I need to buy energy shield gear with my saved up money. All I have is life gear. If you'd like to borrow my Death's Harp let me know, but I think they go for pretty cheap and great for crits. |

I plan on sticking with it, no pain no gain and all that. I'll let ya know how it works. Really need to put some more time into my ranger and stop messing around with other builds. She's my farthest along so far and it'd be nice to finish normal at some point. Being a new player and all I really need to get her up a bit and do some serious grinding. Not too worried about gear atm but I need a crap-ton of gems for my guys.

Well, finally got around to finishing Normal and now making my way through Cruel, on Act 2 atm. Things are really starting to get fun. Got my ranger up to lvl 46 now and finally starting to get some decent gear/gems. Anyway, if anyone wants to say hi, my character's name is Gonelin in the Standard league. That's the one I'll be playing for awhile I think.

I have a level 47 Shadow that I doubt I'll ever play seriously so maybe I will respec him, kit him and play some. I think I got him as far as fellshrine in act 2 of cruel. His name is The_Disemboweler, if you see any funky friend requests. I don't know if I'll get a chance to play though.
