I was astonished that mine wasn't taken when I signed up!

I know it's a bit pretentious of me to name myself after one of the Valar, but I've been using this nickname since I was 15 and decided to become an astrophysicist, blame it on the arrogance of my former teen self

donalde has been my online name from beginning on '90, when I 1st time entered irc. By that time I was huge fan of books by donald e westlake, also I had some reason RL nickname 'aku', donald duck is 'aku ankka' in finnish, but that 'aku' didn't come from that. So, 1st time I entered irc, I tried nickname 'aku'. In Use. 'donald'.. also in use. 'donalde' was not in use... well, it has been in use since.

Le Guin character. When I was a teenager I thought it was all cool and geeky-literary; at this point I'm a little embarrassed to be using such a handle on forums related to a rather barbaric computer game.

(Not that I have anything against barbaric computer games. But the association seems kind of strange, to say the least.)

Yes - but being middle-aged, it's now on axle stands in the garage with its seats out and one side removed. It failed its safety test just before my daughter was born four years ago, and I started work on it last month. I am hoping to get it back on the road this summer ...
