DAJAngband bug

Hi,

I think I've found a new bug, in v1.2.0 (I see that a minor release has come out since, but didn't see this in the fix list).

I'm not 100% sure that I'm right about the circumstances since I've only seen it twice, but it appears that sometimes if I kill a monster that regenerates (regenerating zombie, in this case), then move onto the space it died on and let it regenerate, I disappear.

I am invisible. I can hit the zombie and kill it again, and I can hit other monsters that come to me, but I now cannot move, and I do not show on the map. I can shoot. I apparently cannot be hit, either. Arrows fired at me stop where I am, but do no damage. Light area spells are centered in the right place, and there are "walls in the way" where they should be, so I can tell where I am this way.

Phase door and teleport self have no effect. However, word of recall takes me back to the town and apparently fixes things, since I now show up as "@" on the map again.

Just FYI... :-)

Addendum - it looks like save and exit, and then restart the game fixes it too; when I load the saved game I appear where I should be again. So, that's a way to avoid throwing away the level.

That has been fixed in the newer versions (and IIRC a 1.2.0 savefile should work fine in 1.2.2).
I didn't mention this with the bugifxes because I thought that bug was only there between versions (I caused the bug after releasing and fixed it before the next release), but obviously I was mistaken. Anyway, it's fixed in 1.2.2

V121c

Misspelling in the description of the lead filled mace. The word mace is misspelled (made), I think.

The 'shadow' has a native depth deeper than that of the 'deep shadow'.

Noticed a bug in the newest release 1.2.2 to warn people about: Sometimes monsters with escorts come with lots and lots of escorts scattered over half the level. This is a result of me 'improving' the escorts code which looks for places to put escorts (It is now a lot better at finding places to put monsters). I'll probably post another update in the next few days to fix this.
EDIT: There's an update of 1.2.2 posted with this bug fixed.

fixed the misspelling.
The deep shadow refers to how dark it is, deep is not referring to depth. I just didn't want to have two different but similar monsters with exactly the same name, and I wanted the ones that come in groups to be the shadow so the other one I called a deep shadow. If there's a better word to use than 'deep' go ahead and suggest it.

How about The Lonely Shadow? 'You feel an emptiness inside you as the air in front of you darkens'

Another flawed description. The AMHD.

Its huge form is what legends are made of. Many colours ripple down its massive frame. D: Few live to see another.

Throughout the descriptions there also seem to be a large number of Its, that should be It's (I think, proper grammer, not my strongest suit).

Ungh, "possessive" doesn't say much to me

Always hated that part in my language, we have at least five times more of those than English has, and we don't have any "small words" like the, a, in, on etc. we have all of those using word in different form. I don't recall which word it was but one of the linguists here counted that there were 10000 ways of writing of one Finnish word. OTOH same word can have different meanings depending of context. "Hae lakkaa satamasta kun lakkaa satamasta" means "fetch the varnish from harbor when it stops raining". There the word "satamasta" has two base words "sataa" which means "rain" and "satama" which means harbor and "lakkaa" means "varnish" (kind of special case of using plural form of base word "lakka" because when used to mean varnish it is always plural) or "something stops". Of course word "sataa" can also mean "hundred" if put in yet another context. There the base word would be "sata" which just means "hundred" (with a little twist which I can't describe accurately. Something like "how fast?" "sataa" instead of "sata".).

For fun I add here a longest Finnish word that is not an compound but formed from different nominative cases:

"kumarreksituteskenteleentuvaisehkollaismaisekkuud ellisenneskenteluttelemattomammuuksissansakkaankop ahan".

Don't ask me what it means. Looks like something about bowing "kumartaa" with asking and wondering and "is it really so" and so on...

Its ~= his ~= hers
It's = it is ~= he is ~= she is.

I think. Grammar sucks.
