In what setting do you like to play angband?
Recently I grabbed a copy of 3.3.2. Vanilla and started playing some band at night before going to sleep.
I put on my headphones, crank up Hammerfall channel on Pandora and bash some monsters. Game on! |

Oh, in what setting. I thought that was "what Angband settings."
I usually play at home, on my netbook, and usually at night. And yes, I do sometimes listen to music while playing. Used to typically be Jethro Tull or such... Not so much now, because I've mostly transitioned to free/indie music and there's not much of it in that genre. I might eventually grow to like Angband with a side of electronica, though. |

I do most of my playing while watching TV. That is, I do most of my playing while largely ignoring the TV. That is, I'm largely whatever crap my wife insists on watching.

It's probably better than listening to Thomas the Tank Engine, or Shaun the Sheep, or the Backyardigans, which is what I often play to nowadays. The wifey watches her junk on the Mac, but she likes Angband at least.

I have that soundtrack too, but can't actually play in that scenario. The best I can do is catch up on Oook or IRC. Hats off to people who can concentrate on Angband with rugrats around!

I often play at nights or on the train, common background noise includes my roommate, Dragonforce, The Offspring or my Youtube playlist (which contains everything from classical [Shostakovich/Rautavaara], through jazz, punk rock, metal, Touhou remixes, Beatles, one or two JPop songs, random various popular music, as well as some soundtracks, both from video games and movies).
I also used to listen to Two Steps From Hell to Angband, but the songs are on my external drive and I couldn't be arsed to copy them back over after my last format. TSFH is a company that makes soundtracks for trailers, movies and the like, and many of the songs are truly epic, often purely instrumental. It actually goes really well with fantasybands (I'm excluding Steam here).

I tend to play most, after work while waiting for my ladyfriend to finish, about half the time I'm finished before her, and since I don't drive and she does, I have to wait.
